Ncyte® Cholinergic Neurons
Human iPSC-derived cholinergic neurons
Ncyte® Cholinergic Neurons are human iPSC-derived neurons that develop characteristic neuronal morphology and express key markers of cholinergic neuronal identity.
Designed for CNS drug discovery and disease research, Ncyte® Cholinergic Neurons provide a human-relevant model for studying cholinergic biology and mechanisms relevant to cognition, memory and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease.
- Characterised excitatory glutamatergic neuronal population
- Relevant for cognition and neurodegeneration research
- Suitable for pharmacology, neurotoxicity, and screening in a human neuronal model
Immunofluorescent staining of cholinergic neurons on Day 3 post-thaw shows expression of TUBB3 and the cholinergic neuron marker ChAT.

Technical Data
Ncyte® Cholinergic Neurons display characteristic neuronal morphology and develop extensive neurite networks in culture. They express the pan-neuronal marker TUBB3 and the cholinergic neuron marker ChAT, supporting their cholinergic neuronal identity.
Cholinergic neurons are a physiologically relevant tool for in vitro studies of human cholinergic signalling and neuronal biology. Cholinergic signalling plays an important role in cognitive processes including learning and memory and is particularly relevant to the study of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease.
Ncyte® Cholinergic Neurons provide a human neuronal model for investigating cholinergic biology and can support the development of physiologically relevant CNS research models.
Ncyte® Cholinergic Neurons are highly suitable for drug discovery and disease modelling studies where altered cholinergic function plays an important role, including Alzheimer’s disease and other disorders affecting cognition and memory. They can also support cholinergic pharmacology, neurotoxicity studies and the evaluation of therapeutic candidates targeting cholinergic pathways. Our team of neuroscientists is experienced in assay development and screening and can help you assess the efficacy and safety of therapeutic candidates in human-relevant neuronal models.
